Part II. The journal system
Lesson 13. Spanish
Everything so far applies. These are the remaining Spanish details.
x
Write x by sound [course rule]:
- /ks/ is كس: examen · أَاكْسَمَانْ, taxi · تَكْسِ.
- México and Texas have the j sound: México · مَاخِكُ.
- Before a consonant at the start of a word, many people say /s/: xilófono · سِلُفُنُ. Write what you say.
ü
The u in güe, güi is a glide, like the u in bueno: pingüino · بِّنْغُوِنُ, vergüenza · بَارْغُوَانْثَ.
Seseo
If you say /s/ for c and z, write س: cerveza · سَارْبَاسَ, corazón · كُرَسُنْ. [course rule]
Function words
The short words you'll write most:
| Word | Alxamía |
|---|---|
| y | إِ |
| el | أَالْ |
| la | لَ |
| de | دَا |
| que | كَا |
| en | أَانْ |
| no | نُ |
| me | مَا |
| un | أُنْ |
Note y: as a word it's the vowel i, so it sits on a seat.
Names and foreign words
Write them by sound. Latin letters inside an Arabic line break the line direction and give the secret away.
