Lesson 16. Punctuation, numbers and the rest

• Punctuation: comma ،, semicolon ؛, question mark ؟. The period and ! stay as they are.
• ¿ and ¡: drop them. [course rule]
• Numbers: 1, 2, 3 work and run left to right inside the line. For more cover, use the Eastern Arabic digits ٠١٢٣٤٥٦٧٨٩, also left to right.
• Dates: ١٨/١٠/٢٠٢٦ reads as 18/10/2026.
• Names: by sound: Lucía · لُثِأَ, Monforte · مُنْفُرْتَا, Madrid · مَدْرِدْ.
• Arabic words keep their Arabic spelling, as in the manuscripts.
